Brief
A galley kitchen closed off from the rest of the house, with a failing addition from the 1980s tacked on behind it.
Approach
We rebuilt the rear addition properly, joined it to the kitchen under one ceiling, and lined the long wall in rift-sawn white oak. Honed marble counters, unlacquered brass, a plaster range hood.
Result
One generous room for cooking, eating and sitting, opening onto the garden through steel-framed doors.
